History of Eucharistic Adoration in St. Anne’s Chapel at St. Louis Bertrand

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament began at St. Louis Bertrand on February 26, 1998. Adoration was held one day a week in one of the classrooms and was moved to the Chapel upon its opening on July 26, 2001. The Chapel was dedicated on July 26, 2002.  On August 1, 2002, a second day was added, extending Adoration from Thursday morning to Saturday morning. Beginning March 29, 2004, in a combined endeavor with parishioners of St. Mary’s, Milaca, Adoration time was increased and is now held weekly from 8 a.m. on Monday to 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.

One of the many reasons for Perpetual Adoration is to set aside a place where people know that they can go anytime of the day or night to spend quiet time with our Eucharistic Lord. The hours of Adoration are not only for the parishioners who signed up for a specific time. Everyone is welcome to visit and honor the Blessed Sacrament, to set aside a time in an effort to heighten one’s awareness of Jesus’ Real Presence.

Many blessings come from Eucharistic Adoration, but the most important is growing closer to Jesus by spending time with Him in the Blessed Sacrament. In our busy lives do we really take time, in quiet and peace, to express our thanks and love for Jesus? Adoration gives us an opportunity to shut out the world and devote time to spend with Him in the Blessed Sacrament.

We have the Listener in the Blessed Sacrament, waiting for us to come to Him with our praise, hopes, fears, frustrations and sins. He says, “Come to Me, it is really I. I wait for you in this Sacrament of Love.” The Listener is always there waiting and He never tires of Listening.

Because of the generosity of many parishioners and former parishioners
of St. Louis Bertrand and St. Mary's, Milaca, beautiful stained-glass windows were added to the Chapel and were dedicated July 26, 2024.

Please see the brochure below for information regarding the windows.
